Course description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply specialised knowledge and skills, together with experience in leadership and management, across a range of enterprise and industry contexts. Individuals at this level use initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters. They use cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources and transfer their knowledge to others, and creative or conceptual skills to express ideas and perspectives or respond to complex problems.

Learner characteristics and target group

The intended audience primarily comprises international students with diverse educational backgrounds, typically holding Diplomas or Advanced Diplomas. They aim to enhance their proficiency in various business skills and functions, with the explicit objective of equipping themselves for employment. These learners may be seeking to enter or re-enter the workforce, improve their job prospects, transition into a new career, or augment their existing skill set.

Entry requirements

Academic Requirement

To enter this qualification, applicants should have successfully completed Year 12.

Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions).

or

Have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.

English Language Requirement

To enter this qualification, applicants must also meet English Language Requirements:

  • IELTS (Academic) overall score of 6.0; or
  • TOEFL IBT 60; or
  • Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) 169; or
  • PTE Academic 46 or equivalent.

Prerequisite

The Training Package requires that entry to this qualification is limited to those who: Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions). or Have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.

Course credit

Students may apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge, and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning). The granting of course credit may affect course fees as well as the duration of the course. This process is outlined in ZOI Education Course Credit  Policy and Procedure.

Study requirements

Total number of units = 10 

5 core units  plus

5 elective units,  of which:

  • 3 elective units must be selected from the elective units listed below
  • for the remaining 2 elective units:
  • up to 2 units may be selected from the elective units listed below
  • if not listed, up to 2 units may be selected from an Advanced Diploma or above, from this or any other currently endorsed Training Package qualification or accredited course.

Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the AQF alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.
